Denmark's Prime Minister Mitte Friedrichsen announced Wednesday to Parliament that her country has managed to "control" the spread of the new Corona virus.

"The infection is under control and the Danish strategy succeeded in the difficult first stage," said Frederiksen.

To stop the virus from spreading, Denmark has closed nurseries, schools, high schools and some public places such as restaurants, bars, gyms and decking salons. It also banned gatherings of more than a dozen people.

The second phase of the reopening should begin after 10 May, after some restrictions have been lifted.

Since April 1, Denmark has expanded its screening strategy for people with minor symptoms after examining only patients with moderate to severe symptoms.
