Live: 'We're going to win' says Joe Biden who calls on Americans to 'come together'

The wait seems endless in the United States, where the final results of the presidential election are still not known more than three days after the poll. With 264 voters, Democratic candidate Joe Biden seems best placed to win.

Three days after the November 3 ballot, which saw a record turnout, Americans still do not know the name of their next president - a first in twenty years. The count continues in several key states, for some overwhelmed by the deluge of ballots sent by mail, a method of voting favored due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While 270 major voters are needed to be elected, outgoing President Donald Trump currently accounts for 214, against 264 for his Democratic rival, Joe Biden. The Associated Press (AP), our only source on the attribution of these top voters, already allocates Arizona's 11 top voters to Joe Biden. It is not the choice of other media that puts the cursor at 253.

In addition to Arizona, the latest results expected are those of Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia and Alaska. This Friday, Joe Biden passed Donald Trump in the counts in Georgia and Pennsylvania. The Democratic candidate has a lead of about 29,000 votes over the Republican president in the latter state, who continues to count the ballots.

Georgia announced for its part that it would proceed with a recount of the votes, because of the weak lead, just over 4,300 votes, of the Democratic candidate over the incumbent president.

Donald Trump has denounced fraud several times without providing the slightest proof and threatened to appeal to the Supreme Court.

"We are going to win this race," Joe Biden assured Friday night, although he admits that the media have not yet proclaimed his victory.
