The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said Thursday that governments should urgently consider providing assistance to airlines in the Middle East, to help them cope with the liquidity crisis caused by the outbreak of the Corona virus.
Vice President of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Mohamed Al-Bakri, said on Thursday that airlines in Africa and the Middle East are facing increasing revenue losses due to people stopping to travel for fear of an outbreak of Corona virus.
He added that governments should consider urgently providing assistance to these companies to help them cope with the liquidity crisis.
Al-Bakri said that Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Morocco have suspended a base that requires airlines to use most of their services, otherwise the runways at airports will be lost due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
Airlines around the world have canceled hundreds of flights due to the deteriorating demand for travel caused by the virus.
