On Sunday, China reported its first new localized infection with the Coronavirus, three days after no cases were reported. It concerns a person in the southern Guangdong Province, who has been infected by people from abroad, according to the Chinese health authorities.
China announced on Sunday 46 new infections with the emerging coronavirus, including one infection from within its territory, three days after no "local" case was registered.
China, where the new corona virus appeared in December, mainly seeks to avoid the return of the Covid 19 epidemic again to its lands abroad, as it has spread across the globe.
The local case was registered in Guangdong Province, in southern China, and its source was "imported" from abroad, according to the local health authorities.
China confirms that 314 cases of infection were transmitted from people who came from outside the country. Every quarantine from China to any country is required for 14 days.
Life slowly began to return to normal in Hubei Province and Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus, and no new infections were reported in this region on Sunday for the fourth consecutive day.
With these figures, the total recorded cases of infection with the Corona virus amount to 81 thousand and 54 cases, and 3261 deaths, including six cases Saturday.
China is also trying to resume the economy, which is widely expected to shrink dramatically during the current quarter of the year, as life slowly begins to return to normal in cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, even if everyone places masks in public places.
However, many shops and restaurants are still closed after many of them have stopped working, and factories and other workplaces are still not operating at full capacity.
