The total number of corona virus deaths in the United States has exceeded 91,000, after the country recorded 1,539 additional deaths in 24 hours, according to figures published Tuesday night by Johns Hopkins University. This daily death toll is nearly twice that recorded on Monday evening, which was the lowest it has been in weeks for the largest country in the world in terms of the number of people infected with the Covid-19 epidemic.
The United States recorded 1,539 deaths from the Corona virus in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 91,845 deaths, according to figures published Tuesday evening by Johns Hopkins University, a reference in this regard.
The daily death toll is nearly twice that of Monday evening, which was the lowest ever in weeks in the largest country in the world in terms of the number of people infected with the Covid-19 epidemic, which amounted to more than a million and a half million infected, according to data published Tuesday at 20:30 (00:30 GMT Wednesday).
University of Baltimore-based data showed that about 290,000 people infected with the virus were recovering.
In terms of the percentage of deaths distributed among the states, New York State ranked first, recording almost one third of the deaths caused by the virus throughout the country.
According to a measure developed by researchers at the University of Massachusetts based on nine epidemiological models, the United States is expected to record 113,000 deaths with Covid-19 by June 13.
This study, published Tuesday in conjunction with the states' adoption of several measures to reopen their economies, therefore predicts the death of about 22,000 additional Americans due to the Corona virus within 25 days.
