For its part, the semi-official Tasnim news agency stated that the parliamentarian, Fatima Rahbar, died Friday of contracting the virus. The virus was also infected by Assistant Minister of Health Iraj Haririji and member of Parliament Mahmoud Sadiqi.

The Mehr News Agency stated that the authorities responsible for mosque affairs in the country postponed all religious gatherings and celebrations until further notice in the context of efforts to contain the outbreak.
